  • April and I planned to do some sewing today at her house. I asked Hubby-Wubby if he wanted to go along. "Sure," he says. This morning he hopped out of bed and picked 2 five gallon buckets of green beans. So we took them along and snipped and froze them before lunch. It was so much fun! Sarah, Daniel and Tori were all there helping. After lunch I sent Grandpa out with those three to get some bubble gum ice cream which Royal Farms did not have, but they were satisfied with some orange ice cream instead.

The whole point of the day was to do some sewing for Sarah girl and besides she was begging to sew a dress! Quite a dream for a young one who has never done one stitch. She kept begging to sew all morning. So after lunch we set up the machine I had brought along for her to use. She soon accepted that she couldn't make a 'dress' today, but she was as happy as a lark that she could sew some seams on some scraps April had there.

My one great regret... I was not sensitive enough to allow April to show her daughter how to do her first stitches... I didn't even think of it. I wasn't trying to be the go-ahead granny, but there I was, even so.

Later the four grands jumped in the little pool out back, splashing and laughing.

It was a fun day.. ad day to remember.
